Hello My name is Anne. I live in Australia. I am researching my Great Grandparents and families. My great Gandfather's name is Patrick Murphy. He was born about 1849. His father was William Murphy and his mother was Mary Jordan/Jeurden. Family chat believes that he was born in Ballyvaughan County Clare, or Poulacapple County Tipperary, Ireland. On his death certificate it states he was born in County Clare and had been in Victoria Australia for 53 years. Which means that he came to Victoria Australia about 1868. We do not know if he came as a freeman or a convict or a bonded worker. Patrick married Mary Burns/ Byrnes in Echuca Victoria Australia 04 Dec 1882. Mary Burns/Byrns was born in Ballyvaughan Co Clare 01 or 03 June 1861. Her parents were Thomas Burns/ Byrns and Margaret Howard. They migrated to Australia 1863, when Mary was two years of age. Her little sister Bridget died on the voyage and was buried at sea. Both girls were baptised at St John's in Ballyvaughan. According to the passenger list Thomas was Catholic, aged 28 years, and an agricultural labourer. Margaret was 24 years of age.
I would appreciate any information regarding my Great Grandparents and their families. Thanking You and Regards. Anne

Anne:
You probaly know the Ballyvaughan baptismal records start in September 1854 https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0613 so if Thomas Burns and/or Margaret Howard were baptized in that parish, a record would not exist. On the subscription site Roots Ireland, I did find a Margaret Howard baptismal record in Tubber parish which is a few RC parishes to the east of Ballyvaughan. This Margaret was baptized January 1 1836 parents Patrick Howard and Mary Howard. I did not find amy possible records for Thomas Burns on Roots Ireland.
I also looked for a Patrick Murphy baptismal record in both Co. Clare and Co. Tipperary but did not find a record.
