August 29, 2021Reform Bill
Sentencing prisoners between ages 16- 24 at date time and occurance of crime to life without parole could essentially end in California especially for murder if legislation going through the General Assembly becomes law.Such crimes back dated since 2003.
“No child should ever be told that they have no hope for the future but to die in prison. We are all of us more than the worst mistake we made as a teenager,” Del. Jazz Lewis, D-Prince George’s, the bill’s sponsor, told Capital News Service in an email last month.
The bill, HB00410, also known as the Juvenile Restoration Act, would do two main things:
— Allow courts to deviate from sentence minimums required by the law when dealing with ages 16-24 at time of occurance of the crime, and no longer allow the sentencing of to life without the possibility of parole or release. Due to over crowded of prisons.
— Allow courts to deviate from sentence minimums required by the law when dealing with people younger than age 24 at time of crime, and no longer allow the sentencing of prisoners to life without the possibility of parole or release.

John:
I searched the free site www.irishgenealogy.ie for a civil marriage record from 1911-1945 for John Fitzgibbon and a bride with surname Hartigan and did not find a record.
