Hello,
I'm looking for information on Ellen Jane McAuley ( born 14 July 1905- 21 Feb 1991) Her mum and dad were James McAuley and Mary (Boyle or Doyle). I know that she had siblings but I only have two names Catherine and Bella. Bella moved to France.
during Ellen's baptism (29 July 1905) her address was 3 Emily Place and she was baptised at st Patrick's, Belfast.
Ellen Jane McAuley married Michael Graham (21 Feb 1925) and at the time of their marriage she was living at 26 Lancaster St and her parents lived at 26 Lane st (not in Belfast) and her husband Michael was living at 18 Alton street

Hello,
I have found these records before but I don't think it's the same family as my granny was definitely called Ellen Jane not just Jane. Does a Birth certificate come up for Ellen Jane McAulay? I did see this birth certificate on irishroots but then on her marriage it's Ellen Jane McAuley

The July 1905 birth for Jane McAuley was for a family living at 3 Emily Place, which is the address you gave in your post. Father’s occupation is given as a sailor which is what it was on the 1885 marriage certificate and on the 2 births that Roger has found. So I think it has to be the right family. Looks as though she was baptised Ellen but named Jane on her birth certificate.

Have you found the family in the 1901 or 1911 census? (Father could be absent if he was a sailor).
Did Jane/Ellen & Michael die in Ireland? If so, have you looked at their death certificates to see where they were living and who the informants were? Where are they buried? Most Catholics in Belfast are/were buried in Milltown cemetery. They have good records. They might be buried with other members of their family. Did either of them leave wills? If so, PRONI should have those. Worth seeing who they mentioned in those wills.

I've seen their grave in Miltown Cemetry Belfast and it's just Michael and Ellen and her name on it is Ellen and no I couldn't find a Cencus record not even for 3 Emily Place just found it on her Birth record where it said her mum was called Mary Boyle and she was called Ellen Jane Mcaulay

OK you have seen the grave but did you ask the cemetery office who else is buried there? If not you might wnat to do that. And you might want to check the death certificates and wills. If they died pre 1970 the death certificates can be viewed on the GRONI site. After 1970 you need to ring GRONI and get them to send you the certificate. (Pay over the phone).
PRONI should have wills up to about 2008. Personal visit required to access them or pay PRONI to search and copy them.
Here’s Emily Place in the 1911 census but the family aren’t listed there then:

I can’t see them in the 1901 or 1911 censuses at all. Were they perhaps in England or Scotland then? (Their father being a sailor perhaps he took them there?).
