I am trying to locate my great Grandfather John Hogan who lived in Cappoquin Ireland in the 1901 Census on Barrack Street and is year born is 1859. I am trying to locate his graveside and I have reached out to St. Marys Church to see if there is a record of him there. He was a Roman Catholic. Any help with this would be appreciated.

walkerflsue:
John Hogan and Ellen Shea married in 1879. Here is the civil marriage record which shows the names of their fathers. John's father was William. https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/marriage_re…
I searched on the subscription site Roots Ireland and located a January 3 1854 baptismal record in Cappoquin RC church for a John Hogan with father William Hogan and mother Mary Doran. Sponsors were John Hogan and Catherine Doran
Ages in the 1901 census were usually understated and in the 1911 census John is shown as 57 which would point to an 1853/1854 year of birth.

I searched the free site www.irishgenealogy.ie and did not find a death record for John. I was able to find Ellen's death record in 1936. She was a widow of a blacksmith and the informant was daughter Kathleen. See fifth record.

You may want to point St. Mary's to the 1936 death of Ellen Hogan.

Dear walkerflsue, St Anne's is the Church of Ireland (Anglican) church in Cappoquin. As far as I know it doesn't have a graveyard attached. Contact details for St Mary's (Catholic) parish are here: https://www.cappoquin.net/catholic-church/ Best wishes with your research,
