Thomas Neary - Belmullet, Co Mayo born Circ 1825

You might please state the name of Thomas' wife.

There are two men of the name "Nary" in North Mayo. Wives recorded as (1) Cunnane and (2) Rafter.

There are two Corclogh townlands in western Co. Mayo. One in Kilmore civil parish and the other in Kilcommon civil parish

Baptismal records for Kilmore Erris parish start in June 1860 and baptismal records for Kilcommon Erris also start in 1860.

Anthony indicated that he was 36 when he married in 1895 so year of birth was likely before 1860 and if he was from either of the two aforementioned parishes a baptismal record would not be available.

There is an Anthony Nary baptismal record in Belmullet parish with father Thomas Nary and mother Sarah Lynch. The date was May 18 1862 which is probably too late for your Anthony.

I located this family in Corclogh Kilcommon parish in the 1901 census. Surname was shown as Narry but the summary sheet for the townland shows Neary.

Thank you very much for your time and reply. The 1901 census has spelling mistakes for the townland and the surname in Form A but correct in Form B1. These are my relatives as we still own this land today and where GGG uncles/ Aunts. I thought Thomas could be my GG Grandfather but his wife Bridget would be too young unless he married again?
