Usually an address would have the smaller location where the person lived followed by the larger town and then the county.

I'm sure Roger's correct, because the "beg" (in Irish, beag) part of Solloghodbeg just means "little", so it's effectivly "Little Solloghod".

Thanks, Roger.  I've been busy with some other matters, but will try to help out some more.

I was intrigued by this place name, especially since it is not in the database at logainm.ie.  I just had to figure out the meaning, and I finally found it at another site.  The name is apparently made up of two words which must be either dialectical or archaic.  The Irish form of Solloghod is Sulchoid, meaning “sallow willow woods”.  I have no idea what a sallow willow looks like, and I've never seen coid as an alternate form of coill, but that's what I found.  So Solloghodbeg (or Sulchoid bheag) would be "little sallow willow woods"

If you look at the interactive map at that link, you can see that there is a Solloghodbeg Hill within the townland, with some woods indicated as being on it, so perhaps that's where the namesake woods are/were located (although there appears to be a larger wooded area further north in the townand).
