Robert Cook (b 1804) ancestors

You don't mention the religious denomination for Robert but I would assume he was Church of Ireland.

From what I can see, I don't believe that there are C of I baptismal records for Kilberry parish back to the early part of the 19th century.

I also checked the 1827 Tithe listings for Kilberry parish and there were no Cook entries.

Have you considered DNA testing?

I will look into the ancestral Cook religious affiliation. I appreciate the information that you've provided. I have taken the Ancestry.com DNA test. The results haven't helped to illuminate much on the Cook family history in Ireland. I also uploaded that DNA to Gedmatch but I haven't used GedMatch in a while.  I'm just getting started on the Cook line, so I'll look to see what else my family might know. I appreciate any research tips you might have for Ireland!

Thanks again for your earlier comment. I'm wondering, in Ireland, is there a particular DNA service that is most commonly used? I have DNA on Ancestry and GedMatch.

The Irish use the same companies that are used by Americans. Ancestry is likely the most common test but that also is true in the USA.
