Denver Bricklayers ask Thoro Inquiry On RYAN Slaying
The mysterious murder of William RYAN, of 1322 Downing, official of the Denver bricklayers’ union, who was slugged to death and robbed on a Pullman near Syracuse, N.Y., Sunday, while en route to the national bricklayers’ convention, will be thoroughly investigated by the national body, now in assembly at Saratoga Springs, N.Y., if the demand of the Denver union, telegraphed to headquarters Monday, is met.
The Denver union Monday night took unanimous vote to press the investigation of the death of RYAN, who had been secretary of the Denver local, twelve years. RYAN, 60 years old, was robbed of about $500, which he had with him when he left Denver, and it was the theft of this money that furnished the motive for the killing, it is thought.
The widow was notified Monday that the body would reach Denver Tuesday afternoon. Funeral services will be held Thursday morning from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and internment will be in Mount Olivet cemetery. The bricklayers’ union will be in charge and will attend the services in a body. President Joseph Hunt appointed Neal Connors, Walther Matthews and John Lynch a union committee in charge of the funeral.

Not particularly. I just thought it was interesting to note where people from Old Pallas ended up! Basically just a sharing exercise to add to general knowledge of the genealogy of the area.
This is my late mother-in-law's family. She visited the old family home passed down to Hanora Christine "Chrissie" McInerney in the 1980's [house of Hanora Coffey Ryan]. Chrissie was understandably wary of my mother-in-law, denied it was her family, until my mother-in-law pointed out the pictures of her mother and grandmother on the Chrissie's wall. I believe the house is old cottage on the L1152 near the Old Pallas graveyard, now unoccupied.
