Condy Breslin was born about 1815 probably Loughros Point, Donegal. He married Hannah, also born Ireland. They emigrated to Luzerne County, Pennsylvania about 1840 where two of their three known children were born: Annie, Charles and Cornelius. I descend from Cornelius (Neal) and am trying to pinpoint where the family came from.

Unfortunately, you won't find any RC baptismal records back to 1815. Most parishes records start around 1850 or later.
There are many variants for the surname Breslin such as Brisland, Brislan, Breslan and Bresland.
In looking at the Griffiths Valuation records from 1857, there were many Breslin (and variants) out towards Killybegs Upper and Killybeg Lower parishes where you will find Loughros Point. However, there is no way to track the Griffiths back and I don't see any good leads in the Tithe records.

I actually bought a book (made by locals)last years and it is called Loughros Point Placenames and Tales of the Nooks and Crannies. I also am a decendant to Breslins Ardara Donegal and was originally told I was not part of Loughros Point Breslins but they may not have known (I later found out) my grandmother was ALSO a Breslin who married a Breslin- so yeah, I have come across photos with Breslins that belong to me. Anyway. In the book is 1960's early photo of a Charlie Eoghain Breslin, working the land.photos of Rose Agnes Breslin, Teresa Breslin from 1940's. OF course the book is filled with Gallaghers, Heena's, Connelly, McCaul, aka MacCool, McNelis, Haughery, Gildea, Shovlin,Boyle. Almost all of those names crop up in my family research. Just thought since I just joined this, maybe you were still interested. OH and McDonnell is also in my research. Maybe we are related.
Thanks and be well Joan Breslin Capo
