I found the baptism record for William Gleeson (29 July 1854) in Ardpatrick Kilfinnane Parish, Limerick. HIs parents are listed as James Gleeson and Margaret Connors. They are laso the parents for my great-grandfather, Patrick Gleeson. I have searched the parish records and Griffiths for James and Maragret for Ardpatrick and Kilfinnane but come up empty. Any suggestions where to look for their marriage and for Patrick's baptism? Thanks

Paddy:
I was unable to locate the marriage record or the baptismal record for Patrick. I'm wondering if the marriage and the baptism were held in the parish of Glenroe just to the east of Kilfinnane. Available records for Glenroe parish start in 1853 and likely earlier records were lost.

Thank you Roger. I read through all the microfilm for Ardpatrick and wasn't sure if I missed something. I am not certain of Patrick's borth, so I will look at Glenore. Paddy

Hi There
There are still a family of Gleeson's living in Ardpatrick and all the indications are that the family would have been there for a few generations.

Thank you, Quain. My great-grandfather, Patrick Gleason, emigrated to Canada in 1862 as a young boy. I have found no records of his parents (James and Margaret) in Canada nor if his brother, Williiam, was in Canada. I first find Patrick in the 1881 Canada Census. Patrick's marriage Certificate lists James Gleason and Margaret Connors as his parents, I have a close DNA relative on the Gleeson Farn in Pilmore, Cork. His family has been on that farm since the early 1800s. The Ardpatrick Gleesons are a new line to investigate. Thanks. Paddy

Hi Paddy
The man living in Ardpatrick is also Paddy Gleeson and lives opposite the old gate house to the old Castle Oliver House ( Clonofofey) and he has family.
