I am researching my great grandmother
Mary Delia Higgins
B: Abt. 1885.
Marriage
January 1912 • Barton upon Irwell, Lancashire, England
Church of the English Martyrs, 5 Roseneath Rd, Urmston, Manchester M41 5AX
Married : George Townley (1883–1928)
Died: : 30 Nov 1928 • Stockport, Cheshire, England
Her marriage certificate in 1912 states :
• Domestic Servant
• 26, Manor House,
Humphrey Lane, Urmston
• Father - Thomas Higgins, Farmer
I found her 1911 census using this Urmston address above.
Which in turn gave me her place of birth as Cloonfeenian.

There is a Martin Higgins living in 1901 in Urmston nearby who married Mary Jane Solan in the exact same church as Mary and George. We found Martins father is Thomas Higgins & Mary Fox from
Cloonfineen, Kiltullagh, Roscommon.
3 of their children upto 1905 were born in Urmston. After 1905 the family moved to London.
There is also an older brother of Martin & "Mary" called Patrick Higgins who married Mary Halpin. A couple of their children were baptised in Barton, Lancashire which is Urmston area.
They moved back to Roscommon.
I believe my Mary Delia Higgins is the daughter of Thomas Higgins & Mary Fox and is also from Cloonfineen.
The link with Urmston is a fair connection.
However, I cannot locate any birth records for her as of yet or determining the most likely child she could be out of what I have.
Thomas (1847) & Mary Fox (1849)
I believe had at least these children below based on Ancestry and what other " relatives" have added :
Patrick (1873)
Thomas (1875)
Martin (28 May 1876 - Jan 1944, London)
Mary (22 Dec 1878)
Mary (15 Jun 1879)
James (3 Dec 1880)
Kate (Jan 1883)
Bridget (15 Aug 1883 - 16 Jul 1969, Mayo)
Maggie (1887)

Irish records are tricky as everyone seems to share similar names lol.

Ryan:
I think that your Mary Delia is the child baptized as Mary on December 29 1878 in Ballinlough church which means she was born a few days earlier. The parents reported the birth civilly about six months late and to avoid a fine that changed her birth date to June 1879.
Thomas and Mary were married in 1872. See second record at the link. The names of the fathers of the bride and groom are shown on the record.
