Hello, after a lifetime of searching and hitting a dead end in Newfoundland on paper a DNA study has pinpointed this area Poalmaloe and surrounding area between New Ross and Waterford as the genetic homeland of my Molloy surname. I'd like to find historical information on the Molloy's from this area. And eventually find a Molloy who will take a DNA test and find some relatives.

Kevin:
The Tithe listings date from the late 1820s/early 1830s. If you go to the National Archives site, you can search for Mulloy/Molloy records in Whitechurch civil parish. You have to search Mulloy separate from Molloy but you will find ten records in Whitechurch parish. None were in Poulmaloe townland.

Is there a way to find out if there are Molloy's still living in Whitechurch parish? Maybe they would be willing to help me find relatives.

Kevin:
Whitechurch parish is very close to New Ross. Maybe you can place an article in the New Ross Standard which is a weekly newspaper.
