The very end of the article describes the RC parish situation and mentions a chapel in Carnacon which would be Carrownacon currently. There is also the Ballintubber Abbey in the area. The present day parish mentions the Abbey plus St. Mary's in Carnacon/Carrownacon and also St. Patrick's in Killawalla  https://www.tuamarchdiocese.org/parish-details/?parishID=18

The NLI parish register for Burriscarra parish https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/1048 shows Killawalla, Carnacon and Ballintober.

Derrindaffderg townland is in Ballintober civil parish.

To add to Roger's Post, Check out Ballyovey which is another name for Partry/Tourmakeady.

Baptisms: 1869 to 1880 and Marriages 1869 to 1878. Baptisms: Partry 1869 to 1878.

Partry is on the North side of Lough Mask and Tourmakeady is on the South side.. Killawalla (Killavally) is closer to Westport. Road No. R330.

Following up on the previous replies, the graveyard for Carnacon is Burriscarra which is just at edge of village.

The church would be Carnacon church.

It is a beautiful village in a very scenic area on the shores of Lough Carra.

Can I ask who your Kerrigans are please Elaine?

I have a Peter and Margaret Kerrigan with a Michael Kerrigan in the same parish.

My grandmother was Mary Kerrigan (1894-1977), daughter of Patrick Kerrigan (born about 1861)and Bridget Conroy/Conry who were married in 1888.I haven't found any Peters in my search so far, but Mary had a brother Michael and a sister Margaret.
