I have been researching my Byrne family roots in South Tipperary (Cahir/Clonmel/Cashel). During the covid shutdown I have been able to create an extensive database of over 3,000 family groups. My primary interest is in the Byrne family, but also includes Butler/Farrell/Hogan/Lenihan families. My great grandfather (John Joseph Byrne) was born in 1861 Cahir to Pierce Byrne and Bridget Hogan. It appears Pierce Byrne was born in 1840 Clonmel to William Byrne and Ann Butler. Further back the trail gets cold.
I visited Cahir in 2019 and will be revisiting the area this year to further my research and to share the findings from my database effort. If there is someone who can help, I would be greatly appreciative.

Thank you. The Clonmel Town Council Minute book looks interesting. I will add it to my research list.
