Greetings, hopeful that someone can help in locating grave or narrow down the deathdate of Margaret Joyce in the Clifden area.
County Galway, Clifden Cemetery, Roman Catholic section.
The Will of a son, Thomas JOYCE left monies for erection of fence and gravestone for his mother Margaret JOYCE
Monies would have been received by Clifden parish and the Will actioned 1908 / 1909
Margaret was the wife of William Joyce and mother to John; Honor (variations) born about 1844; and Thomas born about 1837 - all born in the Clifden area., it is highly probable that there are more children.
Any information on this family a bonus, contact with relatives utterly fantastic.
Thankyou.

Shirley:
The Clifden RC baptismal records start in 1838 and are available on the subscription site Roots Ireland. However, when I search for Joyce baptismal records with father William and mother Margaret, I get no records. Possibly they were originally from a different parish that does not have records back to the 1830s and 1840s. Roundstone records start in late 1872, Ballinakill records start in 1869 and Moyrus records start in December 1853.
Have you found Thomas Joyce in the 1901 census?

Shirley,
Attached is a record of the death of a Margaret Joyce in the townland of Cloonnacartan, Civil parish of Moyrus in 1893, widow of a William Joyce. a farmer. There are a number of deaths in the early 1900's, but the name of the spouse is not recorded in most cases

Many thanks for the very much appreciated replies, a great help in ruling people possibly in, or definately out.
John Joyce appears to have stayed in the area (proven until November 1875, possibly 1893) -
Thomas Joyce settled in New Zealand 1860's; Honor (variations) Joyce settled USA 1880's.
Are there records of Burial or Tombstone inscriptions round the Cloonnacartan area? So many generations of Joyce family in the area that I am hopeful of JOYCE family grave.
Again, many thanks, happy hunting with your own research.
Regards
Shirley.
