We have become stuck going any further back than Jasper Travers, from Courtmacksherry, who married Susannah Perrot (1812 -1876) of Kinsale. We know that Jasper was ferrying Irish people to Wales, and at some point was fined/jailed in Monmouth prison for carrying too many immigrants on his ship.
His children, Jasper (m Belle Forman), Martha ( mThomas Wagstaff),Wilhelmena and Katherine (m Cowick?) emigrated to USA..
Robert Matthew, Anetta, Sussanah Jane and John all settled in Newport South Wales,
I am decended from Matthew (mLouisa Geary), We have a full family tree going forward - just stuck on Jasper and
I would love to know more. I have a planned trip to Kinsale and southern Ireland at the beginning of May 2022 and would appreciate it if anyone with any knowledge or references

Thank you Eileen
There is new information on familysearch.com for me to look at but still not sure about Jasper Jesse Travers parents. The family tree says his father was James Travers, but we had considered his father to be another Jasper Travers from Courtmacksherry who was a ships carpenter and who married twice.
Need to do more digging I think!
