This is francis croal. I'm from manorhamilton co. leitrim. There's a few croals around manorhamilton, and we're all related. There used to be croals in Kinlough, ballyshannon and Rossinver, but not anymore.

Thank you so much Francis.  Through research I found Paddy Croal who was a runner, living in Manorhamilton. I will be in Bundoran for two weeks starting April 19th, then Dromahair for a month. Would love to meet up.

Hi Francis. My married name is Jenny Croall and my husband is Frank. We’ve managed to trace his family back to circa 1851 in Coatbridge, Scotland but prior to that it looks very much like they came from Leitrim. The parents were Edward and Catherine (nee Cullen), sons Thomas, Patrick, Edward and James, and daughters Catherine and Mary.  There were also other Croal families in Coatbridge at this time including Felix and Farrell Croal. I know there were Croals / Croalls in Killasnet at roughly the same time.  We are going to be in Leitrim for a few days later in September and we wondered if you might be available to meet up.  Kind regards, Jenny

Hello! My name is Alana Fitzgerald and I am descended from Croals also...who emigrated to Upstate New York... Nora O'Shea is the mother of Margaret Croal who I believe was married to Frank or Francis Croal, and my great grandmother Margaret Downes Fitzgerald's mother was Mary Henrietty, Margaret Croal's daughter. My DNA test shows that some of my ancestors did live in Leitrim/Sligo. I'd be grateful to find relatives. I love Ireland and have ancestors from all over as Michael Fitzgerald came over after an gorta mor and fought in the Irish brigade during the civil war and then in generations to come the descendants married new Irish women coming over every time.(Im not sure if that is weird but it happened that way). I visited Sligo and Leitrim two years ago and felt at home there. Alana
