I am grateful for the information to date kindly supplied through Ireland XO. i am now seeking information about my gt, gt, gt, grandparents -
James Power and Bridget (Biddy) Power nee Chandler.
Two children I am aware of -
JAMES POWER (my gt, gt grandfather.)
He was baptised 14th March 1825.
Parish: Adamstown
Church: Abban's Catholic Church, Adamstown, Wexford.
Diocese: Ferns
County: Carrickbyrne, Wexford
Sponsors: Thomas Chandler & Biddy Power
James married Bridget O'Brien, 31st July 1858 in Melbourne, Australia.
THOMAS POWER (gt, gt uncle)
Baptised 7th December 1827
Same church as above.
Sponsors or godparents:
Bryan Power and Mary Doyle.
The residence of Thomas' parents on the baptismal record is given as "Courtoil" which would be more correctly Courthoyle.
I would be grateful for any information about JAMES POWER and BRIDGET POWER nee CHANDLER- when they were married, who their parents were, and if they were born in or around the County of Carrickbyrne, Wexford.
Thank you.

Hello Robyn
I did find a marriage in 1821 for a James and Bridget Power - 20th Jan 1821 - in Stradbally, Waterford. Now this is a good bit away from Adamstown in Wexford
Adamstown marriage records only start (online) 1849.
But of course Bridget may not be from Adamstown (or have you any evidence that she was)
Patrick was Baptised in Adamstown Parish - this is the Parish they lived in at the time of his birthNow I have found in some cases that all the Parish records are not online yet. So maybe it would be worthwhile contacting Adamstown Parish office and asking them for some help

This is just a suggestion, I will keep looking for more information about James and Bridget

I also searched the Tithe Applopment Books 1823 to 1837 for Chandler and there is one in Wexford - a Philip - record attached
Have you come across any connection with Philip Chandler
They were compiled between 1823 and 1837 in order to determine the amount which occupiers of agricultural holdings over one acre should pay in tithes to the Church of Ireland

Thank you so much Geraldine for following up my request and for the information.
I have no evidence yet that Bridget (Biddy) Power nee Chandler was originally from Adamstown. I will follow up your suggestion that I contact the Adamstown Parish Office.
On the marriage printout for their son James Power who married Bridget O'Brien, James Power (father) is described as a farmer.
So far I have not discovered a connection to a Phillip Chandler.
You mention a Patrick Power. Is he by any chance another child born to James Power and Bridget Power nee Chandler?
Kind regards,
RobynRobyn
