My grandfather's family name is O'Donnell....he was one of 9 childen.... the information I have is he was born in Lettermacaward I realize half of Donegal is named O'Donnell, and I know this is a very small piece of information. he was born on the 17 of Sept 1888...in Madava ...
His mother was an Alice Byrne, his father I believe was John.... I know there was a couple of sisters Aunt Sarah, Aunt Maggie....Uncle Johnny, Uncle George....when I visited it was to the Glenties.(.not too far from the town itself )...we visited relatives by taking a bus over the Gwebarra ( ? ) Bridge.
My Granda married Elizabeth Tennyson in Ambler PA....There was also a sister of hers named Ellen that emmigrated to the USA I'm in my 80s and just curious if I still have any relatives there...( I believe I was around 14 when I was there )

The townland is Madavagh.
I believe the mother's name was Catherine Byrne.
I located a February 1880 marriage record for John O'Donnell from Madavagh and Catherine Byrne. The names of the fathers is shown on the record.
You did not mention the first name of your grandfather.
I located birth records for the following children: John 1881 Patrick 1882 Mary 1884 Ellen 1886 James 1890 Joseph 1892 Hugh 1894 Michael 1900. Possibly the other child is George? Let me know your grandfather's name and I will forward his birth record.
I located the 1901 and 1911 census records for the family. In both censuses, John was shown as married but I can't find Catherine. We know she had a son in 1900 and I did not locate a death record from 1900-1911 See eighth record for birth of Michael.
