Bridget my grandmother died 10 June 1938 aged just 37 of TB she was married to Martin Cawley and resided at 34 St Grellins Terrace Ballinasloe. She died in Woodlands Sanatorium. On her death record her name is spelt incorrectly. Bridgets mum was Catherine Egan and father John Murray. Bridget lived in Tea Lane Ballinasloe with her sister Mary Murray and 2 brothers Micheal and Bernard Murray. I have found Martin Cawley her husband (my grandfather -buried Dublin Glasvenin with 2nd wife Mary Rose). Ii have asked root Ireland and galway County and environment galway and archives. I visited Galway Ballinasloe last year and found my mother's convent. Any ideas help please. Thank you. Theresa Jane

Hi,
I am from the area with an interest in history so I saw your query.
I looked up Ballinasloe graveyard site for you and did find a John Murray with wife Catherine who might be your grandparents but the dates mightn't match ? It could happen that her name was never put on a gravestone as occurred with some of my family.
Here is the link for the Creagh graveyard website which is the main graveyard for Ballinasloe. I did a search under John Murray and could only find one with a wife called Catherine.

Firstly thank you so much for trying too help me locate Bridget Cawley my grandmother's burial plot. I am very sure it will be unmarked as my late mother who was put in a convent with her sister as her mother Bridget died when she was 2. They had little money to have a headstones. My grandfather now has one in Dublin as I arranged that. But thank you. Bridgets name is spelt wrong Brigid cawley on her death record. I feel though she is buried in Ballinasloe.Theresa Jane
