My name is Ann I'm a writer and use the pseudonym name Belinda Conniss (My GG. Grandmothers name) She was the daughter of Samuel Conniss and as you can see the spelling of the surname changed over time. The original spelling was in fact Coney's then Connis then Conniss.
Belinda's father Samuel was born in Clifden, Galway back in 1821/22 unsure of the exact date as it's quite hard to find their records, however, I will be visiting Galway between June and Aug this year (2022) In order to do some further research.
What I know so far assuming all is correct.
Samuel died married Jane Best on 14 Feb 1851 he died on 19 June 1882, I have some of their children Belinda born 1863 I do have her birth certificate but yet to upload to 'Find My Past' She married William Fleming on 19 May 1882 and she died living with my Grandmother at 55 Mill Street, Bridgeton, Glasgow on 1 Aug 1944. Their children my G. Grandmother Elizabeth Fleming born 1885 in Glasgow married Thomas Black on 2 June 1905 she died 1951in Glasgow.
Elizabeth's daughter (My Grandmother) Was Thomasina Black born 27 Dec 1916 in Glasgow and died in 28 Jan 1988 in Glasgow, she Married James McGinty then came my Dad Thomas Black McGinty.
I have much more information on 'Find My Past' I am also in 'My Heritage and Ancestry' I have done my DNA if anyone wished]s to check for matches? My GEDmatch number is ML7340325.
I also have BDM Certificates yet to upload and will get on to this in due course, my Coney's family lived between Galway and Glasgow although there are many of the family still in Galway but the surname has changed again to Cunniss.
I have joined this Ireland XO in order to try and find more family but also for us to help each other with information, I have several photos in my trees with more to upload also. I hope this message finds everyone well and hope to here from you soon. I'm new to this site so I hope I have done it correctly?
Regard
