I can't find the marriage record either but it was likely in 1904. Michael Cawley was married before to a Mary O'Donnell in 1899. They had a son Patrick in 1901. Mary died in 1904 after labor. I could not find a birth/baptismal or death record for the child. Bridget Cawley was born in January 1905 to Michael Cawley and Ellen Judge followed by other children. See links below.

Let me know if you have any questions.

  • ty so much Roger i did earlier today go looking for Mary O'Donnell 1901 census under Michael Cawley also her death cert as thought that more than likely death would of been due to child birth n found it i did find the 1911 census a few hrs after posting this and have updated my research only question i have is according to the death cert of Mary Cawley she was 35 and husband is Peter Cawley not Michael Cawley yet according to the 1901 census she was only 25, i know the census can be a few yrs out but considering she died 3yrs after that census surely wouldnt be as much as that wrong. Also the 1911 census shows that Michael Cawley had been married to Ellen 7yrs so that would be round abt 1904 they got married obviously census yrs can be out, what do you think?

I made a mistake with the death record. Did not notice Peter Cawley as husband. Unfortunately, there are no other Mary Cawley death records from 1901-1904 in the Castlebar registration district.

  • Hi Snowfrill,

My name is Tom Judge. I spent some time looking for my Irish Judge's and was able to make a onnection to Leitrim and Roscommon. I do not know of any connections to the name Cawley, but when I searched for matches on Ancestry, I found a few in the 4th-6th cousin range with a connection to my fathers side of the family. Do you know if your Judge's have any roots in LEitrim or Roscommon?

    Thanks,

    Tom

  • snowfrill:

This family lived in Ballintemple townland in Meelick civil parish and Massbrook is in Addergoole parish. Meelick is about three parishes east of Addergoole. Possible.
