Hi There,

I am looking for the marriage records for Micheal Lawler and Margaret Davis.  They had three children all born in Potersize

Mary b 6 May 1914

Patrick b 23 May 1917

Elizabeth 4 Dec 1920

I'm trying to figure out Michaels family line, but need his Fathers name to be sure I'm on the right track.  I've so far tried Ancestry, Roots, FindMyPast and am coming up blank for a marriage cert, using variations of the Lawler name (Lawlor, Lawler, Lalor) 

Any help on this line would be very much appreciated.

    I did not locate the marriage record.

    Portersize is a townland in Timolin civil parish in Co. Kildare near the Wicklow border. I found a family in Timolin townland close to Portersize which is very likely Michael Lawler's family. See the links below for the 1901 and 1911 census record. The father of this Michael was Patrick. Hopefully this is the correct family.

    One of other volunteers, Shane Wilson, is excellent at finding records. The reason why you and I could not locate the record is that Margaret Davis was listed as Margaret Davies. The marriage record confirms that Michael Lawler was from Timolin and his father was Patrick.

  • Wow.  Huge thank you Roger and Shane.  There were the parents I suspected but did not want to add without some sort of corroboration from the marriage license.
