I'm looking for information on what I believe are my 4x great grand parents. James Arnold (possibly 1758-1846) who married Mary Patterson (possibly born 1768) They were married June 5, 1790 Dromore, County Down. James was listed as Linen Draper from Donaghcloney, County Down. I believe they had at least one Son (my 3 great grandfather) Thomas Arnold. At some point Thomas moved to Canada where he married Mary Crooks in 1815.

I can see from this site below that the 1790 marriage was in Dromore cathedral. Tradition was to marry in the bride’s church. Unfortunately their records only start in 1784 so that’s too late but you might find some siblings married there. Copy of the records is held in PRONI in Belfast. Some years are also on the rootsireland site (subscription)

You haven’t said what denomination the Arnold family were but if Church of Ireland then Donaghcloney has the following records:
Baptisms, 1697-1927; marriages, 1697-1994; burials, 1697-1919; vestry minutes, 1772-1833; parish accounts, 1745-8; parochial school account book,1868-76; minutes of Young Men’s Society, 1863-6; register of vestrymen, 1890-1935; tithe applotment book, 1834;
If Presbyterian, then the following:
Baptisms, 1798-1950; marriages, 1826-1909; burials, 1920-87; accounts, 1831-78; list of new
communicants, 1830-79; session minutes, 1830-51; discipline cases, 1826-53 and 1862-7; poor accounts, 1831-51 and 1877-8; lists of new elders, 1826-37.
Copies of the above are in PRONI.
I searched an on-line Newspaper Archives site for a mention of James Arnold, linen draper, but without success.
