Hi Patricia. His parents were Thomas Donoghue and Johanna O Neill.

As mentioned in my original post there is no information re his emigration ,marriage or family. The only information I have is he had a boarding house in the Catskill Mountains

5 DEC 1988 is his death date according to a family tree on ancestry.com. Not sure if it's accurate.

Patrick's baptismal date in Ireland is BEFORE his birth date. There was a fine levied on parents if they did not register a child during a certain period of time. So people lied about the child's birth date, as here.

I believe this is likely your Patrick. The birthdate matches his birth registration and he lived in the Bronx at the time of death. He died in 1966, not 1988!

Thomas is my Grandfather. Michael emigrated to America and I have details of all his children etc.

I imagine Patrick is listed in all the federal censuses take during his time in NY.  I'm not able to do this search, but these censuses would be available to you ono FamilySearch.org, which is free, or on Ancestry.com, which is not free. Many public ilbraries subscribe to it and patrons can use it for free. Good luck.

I can confirm your information is correct. The headstone for that death is indeed my Patrick Donoghue.

The other names mentioned , McKeon , on the headstone puzzled me.  My Uncle Frank confirmed today

that McKeon 's were related to us. He remembered a photograph in his home which included a visitor from America named McKeon.

I would never have found out any of this information without your intervention.
