Where in Ireland was Christopher Lovett born?

I just popped his name into Ancestry, and found the following information: his parents were Bartholomew Lovett (1793) & Margaret Donohorie (1805) and they were married Oct 1816 in Kilmechidar, Kerry. There is also a Griffith's valuation for Christopher showing he lived in Lateeve More, Kimechidar, Kerry. He also had a sister named Mary born 1842-1880. The Ancestry record then shows the marriage to Bridget Shea as well as their three children.

Maybe you don't know but it is not clear whether the marriage was in Ireland or America.

Lovett was not a common surname in Ireland but Co. Kerry had the most Lovett households in the mid-19th century and with Co. Cavan and Co. Kilkenny next in volume. Shea was an extemely common surname in Co. Kerry and Co. Cork with very high numbers in Tipperary, Kilkenny, Limerick and Waterford.

Unfortunately, there are many Bridget Shea baptismal records and without her parents names, there is no way to confirm any records. Also Bridget was likely born before 1838 if she had a child in 1853.

Have you considered DNA testing? Maybe you will have matches who have more info on the origins of Christopher and Bridget in Ireland.

One correction to above post....that birthdate for Margaret of 1805 is probably not correct if she married in 1816!

The civil parish in the record that Carolyn located is Kilmalkedar which is located on the Dingle Peninsula.
