I am writing on behalf of my husband, Mark O'BRIEN (b. 1964, Ohio). He is a descendent of DAVERN/DAVERON and FLANAGAN/FLANNIGAN from Clonbur, Ballyveane, County Galway on his mother's side.
1. His mother was Jane ROSS O'BRIEN (d. 2019, Cleveland, OH). Jane married Robert Emmett O'Brien (d. 1995) and they had 6 children: Kathleen, Margaret "Megg" (d. 2019), Hope, Therese "Terry" (d. 2021), Matthew and my husband Mark.
2. Her mother was Marie FLANAGAN ROSS (b. 1903, d. 1986). She married William J. ROSS of Brooklyn, NY. In addition to Jane, they had David W. Ross (d. 2020).
3. Her parents were Margaret "Maggie" KAVANAUGH DAVERN (b. Clonbur, 1871)and John Paul FLANAGAN (b. Ballynoona, 1863). Margaret emigrated to US in 1889. John Paul's mother Bridgett FLANAGAN also came to the US.
They had 8 children: John Paul, Jr., Thomas, Michael, Mark, Marie, Helen, Margaret and Joseph Bernard.
4. The DAVERN/DAVERONs, parents of Margaret "Maggie" had 12 children: Bridgett, Ann, Katharine, Helen, Sarah (stayed in Ireland), Michael (stayed in Ireland), Margaret, Mary, and four others, names unknown.
5. Michael DAVERON married Mary CORBETT and they had at least five children: Michael DAVERN, Bridgett DAVERN MORRIN, Mary DAVERN KENNEDY, Ellie DAVERN KAVANAUGH and Patrick DAVERN of Clonbur, Pittsburgh/Cleveland. (The DAVERON spelling was used by some, and others used DAVERN.)
Patrick DAVERN emigrated to US in the late 1940s. He married Birdie HOLIAN and they had 6 children.
6. Patrick DAVERN was close to Mark's mother Jane ROSS O'BRIEN. They visited each other in Ohio and Clonbur. Patrick died in 2014 in Ohio.
We are visiting Galway 28-30 June 2022 and would love to meet any of Mark's Irish family. His mother always talked fondly of her visits to Clonbur. Mark can be reached at markobrien777@yahoo.com.

Mr and Mrs. O'Brien:
I checked the free site www.irishgenealogy.ie and located this July 17 1869 birth record for a Margaret Davern with parents Michael Davern and Ellen Diskin. See first record. Is this your Margaret? They lived in Inchagoill townland in Cong civil parish.

See fourth record for 1866 marriage between Michael and Ellen. Names of fathers are shown.

Mr and Mrs O'Brien:
I just heard back from our Ross volunteer. He is away from the area at present but he provided this reply:
Roger
I have difficulty signing in to reply. The best they could do is to call in to Burke bar/restaurant in Clonbur and they will I'm sure get all the local information they require as the owners are there fir years and the staff are mostly local.
I am away at present.

Thank you for all the information. We were able to locate descendants of Michael Davern, a brother of Patrick. We visited them in Ballynonagh, Clonbur yesterday (29-6-22). It was a lovely visit. We were able to see the original Davern residence of Micheal and Margaret Davern in Ballyveane and a cemetery of several descendants. Thank you to the Irish network for helping my husband connect with his family!
