My Great grandfather, Jeremiah Driscoll was born in Skibbereen, in 1835. Jeremiah and his wife, Catherine(Carey) Driscoll migrated to Western Australia in 1869. His parents were Timothy Driscoll and Mary (Driscoll) Driscoll. It appears that Timothy died in 19 Dec 1881 at Ardagh, Tullagh. Mary died on 31 Dec 1895 at Chapel Lane, close to the bottom of the hill, and the local Police Station, in Skibbereen.
Timothy and Mary's youngest child was Patrick Driscoll. Patrick was born in March 1855 and baptiised in St Patrick's Cathedral Skibbereen on the 18 Mar 1855. Patrick (bachelor) worked as a Mill Labourer in Skibbereen.
In the 1901 Census he lived at the same house in Chapel Lane, Skibbereen with his spinster sister Catherine (Kate) Driscoll.
Catherine died on 03 Dec 1901 at this same house in Chapel Lane. Her burial record is not known.
In 1911 Patrick was found in the 1911 Census as still living in this same 3 roomed house in Chapel Lane. It is the only 3 roomed house in those close to the Police Station (Number 3 in the complex of houses)
On the 22 Dec 1914 Patrick died of Pluro pnumonia. He appears in the TULLAGH Burial Register at entry No 266. He is obviously buried in a family grave as his father, siblings and grandfather are buried in the same grave (or close by). Catherine his sister is most likely to be buried here too.
Can anyone advise where the exact location of this grave is in the Tullagh Graveyard?
Kind regards,
Tom O'Driscoll
