  • Hi. I have Cosgrove from East Clare (Broadford). My grandmother was Mary Keane from Ballymalone (Tuamgraney), and her mother was Mary Cosgrove. Her parents were Micheal Cosgrove (1822-1890)and Catherine Moloney. Maybe this helps?

  • EdCos:

The subscription site Roots Ireland has a December 5 1846 baptismal record for a William Cosgrave with father Michael Cosgrave and mother Catherine Laffan. The RC parish was Murroe+Boher in Co. Limerick. There was also a brother Patrick baptized May 25 1849. Same parents and parish. The couple married March 2 1845 in Murroe+Boher. The witnesses were Richard Burke and Anne Bourke.

I looked for Catherine Laffan baptismal records in Murroe+Boher and there were actually three 1815 1818 1822. The 1822 Catherine was baptized July 22 1822 father Edmund Laffan and mother  Joh. (probably Johanna) O'Brien. If you think she was older let me know. There were no Michael Cosgrave baptismal records in Murroe+Boher.
