Hi,

One of my great-grandmothers, Catherine Fallon (23-Mar-1861 - 3-Dec-1924), is a brick wall. A first cousin of mine lists Catherine's father as Martin Fallon (Abt. 1802 - 26-Feb-1862) in Ballinasloe, Galway, Ireland). On Ancestry.com, the hints that come up are for a Martin Fallon who was convicted in a trial held in Tipperary on 31-Mar-1827. This man was born in 1802 in Galway and was sent to New South Wales, Australia aboard the Eliza for stealing bank notes and spent seven years there before being granted freedom. I have no idea if this Martin Fallon is the father of my great-grandmother, Catherine. I would like to find out more about this Martin. Is there a way for one to gain access to a trial transcript from 1827? Would it have been in a local newspaper? I'm not sure how to proceed.

Thank you and God bless!
