Lines 10 and 11 on this link....The Tithe records, There are two Delehanty listed, they are in County Tipperary.
It only lists one a William but above him is Ian,

Not many records for Delehanty so I tried Delehunty ..........a few more.

To follow on from there you can search Griffiths Valuation........The only thing is some townlands names changed between 1837 and 1864.

Hi Margot

I believe Johns' fathers name was Edmond and I think that there was a brother Edward who did not leave Ireland. And there is an Edmund Delahunty 1853 Ballincrea, Kilcolumb, Kilkenny on Griffiths Valuation but I must admit I am a little confused to read it. And scrolling up and down on the page was a person named Power that was apparently near by, Powers?

Hi,  This is an Edward Delehunty died aged 80 in 1894.

Could this be your?

He never married, this place Freshford in north of Kilkenny town/city.
