I am again researching my Commons/Commins family after a two year absence.
I believe my family may have been a family of teachers as Mary Commins (abt. 1810-1886), my ancestor, taught with her husband Tim Forde in New Birmingham/Glengoole 1847-1870 or so.
I have done extensive research in Thurles area (Littleton, Moycarkey etc.) following teacher James Commins back to his teacher father Denis Commins whose farmer father was Patrick Commins but I can't seem to make the connection with my Mary, nor can I get further back to find out Denis' origins - so I'm stuck.
Would anyone know the names of the early teachers (1810-1850s or so) in Boherlahan? Any Commins/Commons teachers perchance?
Many, many thanks for your response!
