With regard to the entry that appears to say: STP: 1S 7 1/2D, that’s the priest doing his accounts.  There was a fee charged for most baptisms, marriages & burials.  That entry is in sterling, and means 1 shilling, 7 and a half pence. (There were 12 pence in a shilling, and 20 shillings in a £1). Today, with decimal currency, 1 shilling and 7 and a half pence would be about 8 pence sterling, which equates pretty closely to $US 8 cents.  

You may notice that the fees vary. Priests often charged what they felt the family could afford (for someone very poor there is sometimes no fee).  So where there are individual fees noted (not all parishes noted the fees) you can sometimes estimate your family’s general financial standing in the community by comparison with what others were being charged at the same time.

Less certain with the other entry but I suspect its the priest(s) names. Thady is short for Thaddeus.  Hopefully someone else will confirm or correct.

DITTO - A repeat of same amount

In relation to  "At Do", you appear to be quoting from the earlier Moycullen parish records.

It relates to a baptism which was performed in the home of Theady Faherty of his son - James in Ohery. It is short for "Ditto" - Same place.

Other entries relate to the religious ceremony of "Churching" where you will see a first name followed by "W" meaning wife of ??

Another Question Please,

I have a Church Baptism Record for Mrs. Peter Faherty at Ohery, 31 Dec 1806.  Pretty sure she is born about 1785.  The note on the bottom says  "STP;2S 8 1/2d" (which I now understand is what the priests were paid for his services...thanks to all of your wonderful volunteers) but under that, it says "CHURCHED". I was thinking it had something to do with her being older at baptism.  

Would love any suggestions.
