My DAVISON family came to Australia in the 1880's. The family story is that they came from Bellaghy (or Mullaghboy). My Great Grandfather, JAMES DAVISON came with his brother HENRY DAVISON and sister RACHEL DAVISON.
James and Rachel stayed in Australia (Brisbane area) but my Grandmother said HENRY had taken one look at the place and got the next ship back to Ireland.
Their parents were ANTHONY DAVISON and RACHEL KENNEDY. Anthony died in February 1884 aged 78 (born abt 1806) and Rachel died 2 January 1883 aged 68 (born abt 1815). This information came to me from a 'birthday book' belonging to my Grandmother, another Rachel Davison and daughter of James Davison.
I am seeking any information or contact with the family of HENRY DAVISON.
JAMES DAVISON married MARY ELIZABETH KENNEDY in Brisbane (she came with her sister ISABELLA some years after James) and both James and Mary Elizabeth gave Mullaghboy as their birth place on their marriage certificate. The family story is that after seven years waiting James wrote and said "if you are not on the next boat I will marry someone else".
Mary Elizabeth KENNEDY and Isabella were the daughters of Thomas Kennedy and Eliza Kennedy

Peter,
Here’s Anthony Davison’s death in Mullaghboy:
You may notice that the informant was his daughter Elizabeth Davison, so clearly James, Henry & Rachel had at least 1 other sibling.
Bellaghy was the post-town and Mullaghboy the actual townland.
Looking at the 1831 census, there were these Davison households in Mullaghboy. Church of Ireland (ie Anglican). They were all next to each other so probably related.
Ballyscullion Church of Ireland’s early baptism records were lost in the 1922 fire and they have no baptisms before 1863 and no marriages before 1845. No burials before 1891.
I suspect this is your Henry marrying Charlotte Overend in 1885, in Ballyscullion Church of Ireland, at which time he was living in Drumlamph, (between Castledawson & Maghera). Note that his bride was from Mullaghboy.

Daughter Charlotte married James Burnside in 1921. He was living in Enniskillen at that time.
Possible deaths for Henry Davidson 24.9.1923 aged 79 & Charlotte 8.3.1933 aged 78. Neither is viewable free on-line. There’s a tree on Ancestry (Hughes family) that has Henry & Charlotte. If you contact the tree owner they may be able to tell you more about the family.
