Eugene Egan was born on 10 Jan 1841 Teervin, Castlegregory, County Kerry. His parents were Thomas Sylvester Egan (1819- 1870) and Mary Fitzgerald (1819- ). Eugene's siblings were Michael Thomas Egan (1838-1894), Mary Egan (1843-1922), Catherine Egan (1844-1934), and Francis Egan (1847-1910).
In 1871 Eugene voyaged to Melbourne, Victoria, Australia on the "Bengal" ex Plymouth, Devon England. He married Ellen Mahon in Victoria on 11 Jan 1881. He farmed with his family in Victoria, but was defeated by the plague of rabbits that occurred in this period. Eventually the family decided to sell up their farming interests in Victoria and left for the Goldrush that was on in Western Australia around 1894. Does anyone know of anything of the family of the Egan's in County Kerry?

Tom,
You ask if anyone knows anything of the family of Egan's in County Kerry.
I attach some records in relation to "Eagan/Egan" from 1823. The name "Thomas Egan" is plentiful in the parish of Killiney/Killiny (Castlegregory).
I did not find a birth record for Eugene Egan.
Townlands are spelled Teer, Teerbrin which appear to have different catholic parishes in the Castlegregory area. Stradbally Civil parish.
