Bill,
To add to previous Post:
Callahan appears to have changed to "Callaghan" on the baptism of Denis Callaghan in Pulnacloh (Pollnaclogha)
on May 31st 1809. His father is recorded as "Michael Callaghan". Mother's name not recorded.
A Michael Callahan was granted a certificate to marry on October 4th 1786 and another Michael Callahan was granted a similar certificate
on July 4th 1808. This certificate was granted where a parishioner intended to marry a non-parishioner.
A Pat Callahan married his neighbour - Mary Hanly and a Mary Callahan married Thomas Kyne from Rahoon parish on May 5th 1804
You can access those records at catholicparishregisters@nli.ie - National Library
Civil records are from January 1st 1864.
