Searching for any information on Margaret Culhane from Ballyagran Limerick. Margaret was born around 1841. Came to Australia in 1864.

Do you have any other info? Parents? siblings? month of birth? children's names (in order)? Thanks.

My Grand Aunt was Margaret Culhane but I might add that she was only Culhane by marriage --her maiden name would have been Quain and they would have lived in Colmanswell which is part of Ballyagran Parish --the date of birth is a bit off but it is a wild card.

Thanks for your replies. Her birth name was definitely Culhane. I have been searching for records from a town called Ballyagran but if it is a parish there could be other towns within the parish. Do you know where I can find other town names for this parish ?

You can see the names of the nine townlands in Ballyagran Electoral Division here: https://www.townlands.ie/limerick/ballyagran/ I hope this is helpful.

I am surprised that you have found no records for the Parish of Ballyagran as I know it existed at that time. There were several Culhane families in Colmanswell/Ballyagran at that time. The Colmanswell end of the parish was part of Rockhill/Bruree parish and then it was a parish of its own and later amalgated with Ballyagran. Perhaps PM at georgequain@hotmail.com
