I am researching the Purtells who lived in the townland of Carrowncalla. Some of them went to Kingston, Ulster County, New York and some to New York City. Wondering if there are any left in the area who know about this family? Thanks!

This record shows three family members Purtill, note Michael Purtill is a widower with two adult children Margaret and Michael.

The 1911 census had one Purtill family in Carrowncalla North http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Clare/Kilrush_Rural/Carrowncalla__North/363673/
See last record at the link https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/deaths_returns/deaths_1922/05076/4392568.pdf The father Michael died in 1922.
Daughter Margaret married a Jeremiah O'Mahony in April 1911. See fourth record.
I can't find any records on Michael Jr.

I found this death record for Margaret Purtill died 15/7/1845 who appears to be Michael's wife. She was aged 40 years.

Perhaps contact the Kilrush Historical Society at KilrushHistoricalSociety@gmail.com. Local people might know if there are Purtells in the area.
