Hello I am looking for information on John Keefe (possibly born 1853). I believe he is my great grandfather and was married to Esther Burns. I have information from a gravestone I believe is John's brother, Arthur Keefe, married to Rosy Keefe. Gravestone says Arthur was "Born in County Wicklow Ireland Parish of Black Ditches" and died July 28 1886 Aged 46 years. My grandfather Thomas Keefe was born in the U.S. and married to Henrietta Marlowe. Any information appreciated! Helen

There are four different townlands called Blackditches in Co. Wicklow in four different civil parishes. There is no parish called Blackditches.
I searched on the subscription site Roots Ireland and could not locate any baptismal records for an Arthur Keefe. There are a number of John Keefe records around 1853 but without any parents names we can't confirm any of the records.
Have you considered a DNA test which may yield matches on your Keefe line. They may have more info on the family in Ireland.
