I am searching for help in finding more about Rev. John Ryan and his sister Johanna Ryan from Pallasgreen. Johanna is my g-g-grandmother and Fr. John is her brother. Fr. John studied at All Hallows in Dublin and when he came to the United States about 1848, Johanna also came along as his housekeeper.
I would like to find a genealogist who can help. Thank you.

You can contact the Limerick Genealogy Centre and they will try to assist you but they do charge a fee.

I did take a quick look at the subscription site Roots Ireland and there are many Johanna Ryan and John Ryan baptismal records from 1812 on.

I did not finish my last sentence. I meant to say that there were many Johanna Ryan and John Ryan baptismal records in Pallasgrean RC parish from 1812 on. Not having the parents names will make it difficult to find the correct records. Have you taken a general DNA test?

Roger,
I have taken a DNA test and so have several of my brothers.
My records show Patrick Ryan and Mary Beary as parents to Johanna Ryan. If I can confirm her brothers (Fr. John and Thomas) have the same parents, I should be closer to nailing down the roots in Pallasgreen or nearby.

Mike:
I searched on Roots Ireland and found eleven baptismal records for children of Patrick Ryan and Mary Beary. There is a Thomas but no John.
The eleven children are Winifred 1819 Thomas 1820 Margaret 1822 Catherine 1824 Mary 1825 Mary 1827 Cornelius 1829 Denis 1831 Johanna 1833 Patrick 1835 Allicia 1838 Likely the 1825 Mary died in infancy and the next child was given the same name.
The parents were married July 27 1818 at the RC church in Solohead and Oola. Solohead was just to the west of Pallasgrean RC parish and would have been Mary Beary's parish since marriages were almost always held in the bride's parish.
I don't see any gaps since there was a child almost every two years. Maybe Fr. John was a first cousin?
Let me know what else you need.
