I am looking for the parents of my 2 great grandfather and 2 great grandmother.   Paul Kingston was born in Drimoleague, Cork, Ireland in 1809.  He married Mary Kelly (born 1813).  They married in 1834 with John Kelly and Richard Kingston as witness.   Paul and Mary immigrated to Ontario, Canada after the birth of many children.  My great grandmother, Ellen Kingston was the last of their children and only one born outside of Ireland

  • MaryLou,

The baptism records for the RC parish of Drimoleague begin in July 1817, so there will not be a baptism record for Paul nor Mary; but I did find a Find a Grave record for Paul where someone wrote in the notes that they were both from the townland of "Moinies (Meenies)"....I believe the correct spelling is Moyny. If you take a look at Griffith's Valuation for this townland, you will see there is Moyny East, Lower, Middle, and Upper. There you will find numerous records for the names Kingston and Kelly. Deciphering who their fathers were might be difficult. Additionally, there are some Ancestry trees of this family that give their parents' names, but there are no records to prove the relationships.

    Regards,

    Carolyn
