I am seeking information and relatives/clan members from my ancestors from the village of Skreen, County Sligo. Two of my relatives from Skreen are Phelim Watters (1822-1866) and Thomas Waters (b.1840) who immigrated to New Jersey USA.
I would like to visit my ancestral village some time in the near future. Any guidance on the visit and exploring the village and area would also be appreciated.

There are two townlands, Skreen Beg (96 acres) and Skreen More (106 acres). In the 1901 census there were 4 houses in Skreen Beg and 3 in Skreen More. Total population was 41 people, all engaged in farming or agriculture generally.

Griffiths Valuation of 1857 lists a Michael Waters in Skreen Beg farming plot 2 with a John Dwyer. Perhaps that was your family?

Skreen Beg is just north of the N59 Rd near Skreen Garda station. It looks to be 1 large farm today (judging by Google Earth).
Skreen Beg is in the RC parish of Skreen & Dromard. Their RC baptisms start in 1823 and marriages 1817. Have you searched them for your family?
