Does anyone know where to find out more about the William George Molloy Estate in Ballyfermoyle probably 18th century please. This is all I have.

MR. JAMES O'KELLY (Roscommon, N.) I bog to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland if the estate of William George Molloy at Ballyfermoyle, county Roscommon, has been sold to the tenants; whether an inspection has been made of lands owned by John Molloy; and whether it is intended to provide land for the three evicted tenants from the William George Molloy estate on the lands owned by John Molloy.
MR. CHERRY NO proceedings for the sale of this estate have yet been, instituted before the Estates Commissioners. When their inspector was making local inquiries as regards the evicted tenants on the estate he visited the holding which John Molloy occupies as tenant, but the question of acquiring that holding has not been considered by the Commissioners, seeing that the estate-is not pending for sale before them.

Is this WGMulloy likely to be William Mulloy heir to Coote 1850 and uncle to Coote?

This is a question I cannot answer. You will have to check local records, including church records.
The surname "Coote Mulloy" is a bit confusing. A land record for 1796 shows a William Mulloy being a tenant in the Barony of Boyle for he lives of William Coote and Charles Mulloy.
Coote Mulloy of Oakport died on March 2nd 1850. I did not see any first name for him!
You may be able to sort the various relationships from the attached press reports.

Hi Fionn,
I was wondering if you’d got any further on your Ballyfermoyle/Mulloy research. My relatives were the Benson’s (Benison) who were tenants in Ballyfermoyle from about 1830. They are listed on the sale particulars in 1851 as having been evicted. However a short time later they are back under the new landlord Fanny Mulloy.
Just wondered if you’ve managed to find any further references to the sale ?

Hi John my interest was in the wealthier Mulloys/Molloys to see if my great great grandmother Catherine Mulloy O'Hara was connected to them. I have distant dna connections to the Ballyfermoyle Molloys but also Aghrafinigan Molloys.
Nothing was found. From memory Fanny (Frances) Mulloy was a daughter of William Coote Mulloy.
I see that a John Benson married a Tessie Molloy of Breanletter/Ballyfermoyle in 1900. For more info google the free Helen's Family Tree.
