I'm on the hunt for a George Talbot that married a Pratt. I know there were at least 3 children.. my 3x great grandfather who was George Talbot b, 1809 and immigrated to Shefford, Quebec in 1835.
George jr. had a sister Mary Talbot b. 1817 and married Patrick Mullally in 1837 at Offlay. Mary eventually immigrated to Pennsylvania in 1864 after Patrick passed away in 1860.
Apparently George sr. married after his wife who was a Pratt passed away prior to 1835 and the second wife was not kind to the children. George jr. is listed with 2 children over the age of 12 when he made his passage from Quebec City to Montreal in 1835.
So I am looking for George sr. and his wife Pratt.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Wendy, A group called The Talbot settlers, emigrated from North Tipperary early 1900 century.
To the best of my knowldge, Richard Talbot led them.
A lot of research done on them here Will try and find out more,.

Hi Wendy,
I'm an IrelandXO Volunteer here in Roscrea. I have just seen your post. I've had a quick search, but so far have found no matching records for George & his wife (Pratt). I suspect that they may lie in the Church of Ireland records as the name Pratt is one that is in the Church of Ireland family. I'll keep on looking, but I'm not hopeful of locating them as Roscrea Church of Ireland records are not online. You might wish to send a query to the local rector Rev Canon Jane Galbraith, St. Cronan's Rectory, Rosemount, Roscrea, Co. Tipperary. In the meantime I'll see what I can locate on your family.

Thank you Dick.
I will let you know more of what I have now discovered. George Talbot, I believe had a sister Mary Talbot( b. 1817) that converted to Catholicism and married a Patrick Mullally. (b. 1817 d. 1859). Mary moved to the United States with her children in 1864. Mary and Patrick's children were baptized in Borris in Ossory. I was told recently ( according to an old letter) that the Talbot's originated from Ballaghmore area and Kyle. This makes sense as recent dna hits have taken Pratt's in the era of George Talbot to Cloncannon., which is just up the road from Ballaghmore.
Thank you
Wendy
