My mother is a direct descendant of a Jeremiah O'Brien who was born abt1863/1864, to Margaret Meagher (Maher), and Daniel O'Brien of Silvermines.
My mother's great grandfather Jeremiah O'Brien and his brother Daniel and sister Bridget sailed on the Rangitikei from London on the December 16, 1883 and arrived in Auckland on April 15, 1884. Jeremiah O'Brien settled in Thames, Coromandel, Waikato, New Zealand as a publican at The Central Hotel. He married his wife Bridget Collins in 1902 and had 4 children, Kathleen, Daniel and Jeremiah Bernard (who died as an infant) and my mother's grandmother Mary. Jeremiah died, 13 Aug 1917, Thames, Coromandel, Waikato, New Zealand. He is buried with his wife Bridget at Buffalo Cemetery. I am not able to find where it is that Daniel and Bridget the other two siblings that travelled with Jeremiah settled within New Zealand?
I would love to continue on our quest to find out more about the O'Brien's of Silvermines. We hope to connect with other descendants of Jeremiah's siblings, Patrick O'Brien, 1850-1929, John O'Brien, 1852-1926, Catherine O'Brien, 1854-1922, Daniel O'Brien, 1856 - Death Unknown, Bridget O'Brien, 1860- Death unknown. Also and information about Jeremiah's parents and their lineage would be much appreciated. My mother has a family tree on ancestry.com under the name ''Linda Mathers Family Tree'', if you would like to view the tree for extra information on our family please look us up.
Thank you for your time, Carrie

Hi Carrie,
See attached a copy of Jeremiah's baptism cert and also back in August 2014 there was also another query looking for the same O'Brien family - see details attached. Check out FB page for Nenagh Heritage Centre as you will get alot of local information there. Good luck with your research.
