Hi, thanks for being here. My name is Carolyn Piercey and I'm writing from Connecticut, USA. I am wondering how to do a look up, in Omey, for years prior to the images on the NLI website.
I am looking for the births of Matthew McHugh and Martin McHugh, both sons of James McHugh, in Omey (first, then later surrounding parishes) beginning in 1816. From the order of the later births, Matthew should be the first born. I also need the father's marriage, and whether or not there is any indication that he came from Tuam.
My research list:
Marriage, James McHugh (born 1796) around 1816 and the name of the wife.
Births, Matthew McHugh (expected in 1817), and Martin McHugh (expected 1819).
Thank you very much for any assistance or advice or contact information for parish research that anyone could provide.

Carolyn:
Unfortunately, you will not be able to find earlier records for Omey/Clifden parish. 1838 is the start of the records.

Thank you, Roger, for your reply. I think I've got it pieced together using dna, I needed to confirm it with documents.
Darn.

Hi Carolyn,
Unfortunately I have no answers for you but I do have questions! My G grandmother, Ellen McHugh (b. 1873) I believe was from Tuam. She immigrated to Boston where she remained until her death in 1954. Her father was Michael McHugh and mother Mary Forde. She had a brother, Patrick who also immigrated to Boston. Aside from this I don't know of other siblings. Just looking to make progress on this line and thought perhaps we might be connected somehow. Thanks.
