Hi I will be visiting Limerick on March 29-31st and would like to see my GreatGrandfather's home in Kilteely. I have read on Ancestry.com that the home still exists, and is considered a historic residence. Unfortunately no address is listed. Here is the census information for John McLoughlin, (listed in the census as John Loughlin, 1901 Census of Ireland (Townland) Cromweel (DED) Kilteely (Poor Law) Kilmallock. He was married to Mary McLoughlin (Lynch). Thank you!

This is the building return attached to the census, the house is numbered 18 on the return but this is not actually a house number, it is a way of collating information.

This is a picture of a house in Kilteely County Limerick. I googled it on google street view passing the church, cemetery and straight on for a couple of hundred yards. It looks very similar to your photo and may be the house you are looking for even down to the little gate at the side , I'm sure local people would assist you, try in local pubs and knock on doors locally, if there is a garda (police) station locally, they will help. Good Luck and enjoy the trip.

Sorry only looking at messages now, I hope visit to Kilteely went well. The house in the picture looks like your great Granfathers house but it is in Cool and not Cromhill (Cromwell Hill) where your John Loughlin lived. I hope when you got to Kilteely you were assisted in finding the house. The house still stands but is in ruin with the curent family living in a house on the site. On Google maps it is on this link.
Loughlins House Cromhill Kilteely.jpg
The house was built by the local district council, and was allocated to John Loughlin in 1887 and he was continuing to hold the house in 1906, it then went to Michael O' Halloran in 1915 , it went to Patrick Fitzgerald in 1916 and back to Michael O'Halloran in 1919. In 1931 it transferrd to Michaels wife Margaret (Hayes) in 1931. In 1961 it transferred to Kate Brazil she was a daughter of Michael and Margaret O'Halloran who had married James Brazel, James died in 1981 and margaret died in 1986 leaving no family. Also Michael Halorans mother was Bridget Lynch a possible relative of Mary Lynch your great Grandmother.
The photograph you hold of the family is really nice, as well as it having your family in the photo, its is a great photo of the house and the time which I expect was taken in early 1900. I am currently collecting old parish photographs for a Historical Photo book and would like to include same. my email is eddie.odea2019@outlook.com and I would love to hear from you re the photo and the people in it.
