I am looking for more info on my ancestor Catherine Dorgan's parents. I found her baptismal record from 30 Sep 1822 in Desertserges. It lists her parents as Denis Dorgan and Mary Sullivan. I cannot find any further info on either parent. Catherine married Daniel Herlihy in 1836 at the Cathedral Church of SS. Mary & Anne, Cork City. I believe she died 9 Feb 1890 as a widow somewhere in Cork according to the Civil Registration Index. Thank you for your help!

Herlihy1,
Civil death records have a Catherine Herlihy with an address: 30 Old Market Place, Cork.
She is recorded as a widow and 69 years of age.
Her death was notified by Nora? Herlihy

Herlihy1,
A check of the Tithe Records 1823 - 1837 did not show any Denis Horgan for Desertserges parish which appears to be in the Union of Bandon and Clonakilty.

Thank you for checking. I am looking for Denis DORGAN - not Horgan. How do you look at the Tithe Records?

Thank you everyone for your help! So if I have a baptismal record for Cate/Kate Dorgan in Desertserges in 1822 and her parents do not appear on the Tithe Records from the following year does that mean they lived with their parents or a sibling that would have had the land/Tithe in their name? I've attached the baptismal record to this message.

Herlihy1,
Apparently, Denis Dorgan did not possess any agricultural land in excess of one acre.
He was possibly living with relatives of his wife.
Attached some detail on the Tithes.
