My brother Michael and I are travellng to Ireland in mid September and would love to meet some of our relatives. Our paternal great grandfather was Michael O'Regan and our paternal great grandmother was Mary Rochford. They were married in Kilrush on April 6, 1892. At that time Michael was 25 years old and living on Burton Street. Mary was 18 and lived in the Bow. They had a son Patrick who was born February 15, 1895 when they lived on Grace Street in Kilrush. It appears they then moved to Limerick and continue to build their family. Our paternal grandfather Thomas O'Regan was born February 17, 1990 at Gorman's Lane in Limerick and baptized at St. Michael's church. Thomas had 5 more siblings in addition to Patrick. They were Martin (1902), Joseph (1905), Mary Bridget (1906), William (1909) and Esther (1911) all born in Limerick. Mary Rochford's father was Michael Rochford. If you have any information about relatives that are currently living in Kilrush please let me know.

Here's a link to the family in the 1911 Irish census:

Note the Regans also had a son Michael, born in Clare, about a year after Thomas.

Here is 1901 census showing Mary and children in Limerick. Note there is a son John.

Debra:
If you have not done so already, could your complete this form regarding your trip to Ireland and specifically Kilrush. https://www.irelandxo.com/meet-and-greet
Have you considered taking a general DNA test? You may get matches who are currently living in the Kilrush area.

Thanks Roger. My ancestry.com showed that 46% of my DNA is from Munster Province (County Clare, Kerry and Limerick).

Debra,
I attach a copy of the Civil Marriage record of Michael Regan and Mary Rochford 1892 - No. 135 on sheet.
The "O" was probably added to the "Regan" surname later.
The father in each case is described as "Labourer"
