Its been some time since I last posted and do not appear to have got any further with my Burke line but I am hoping this could soon change.

I have a DNA match with Gentleman named Trundle who is showing as a 2-3rd cousin, in his tree he has a Grandmother named Mary Ann Burke born around 1870, she married a Patrick Connor / O`Connor who came from Portumna, I have their marriage certificate in 1893 from Eyrecourt , his Father was Patrick Connor and hers Thomas Burke. I also have the 1901 & 1911 Census showing that Mary Anne and Patrick had 5 children and lived in Chapel Lane Eyrecourt.

Mary Anne was left money in a will from her Brother Michael Burke who was killed in action in 1915,  at the time she was living in Rose Cottage Portumna.

II have a DNA match of a 3rd cousin from Boston USA who`s Great Grandmother was Catherine Eleanor Burke from Galway born around 1867 who`s parents according to her marriage certificate to John Henry Hickey were called Thomas & Mary Burke.

My Great Grandfather Patrick Burke who on the 1911 census said he came from Gorteenaveela as did his wife Caecilia Tierney, they married in Ballinasloe Church in 1899, the marriage certificate states his parents as Thomas & Mary Burke.

I am surmising that Mary Ann Burke could be My Great Grandfathers Sister, and that he did not come from Gorteenaveela which is where I have been aimlessly searching for over 4 years!

Does anyone have any information that could help me ?

Many thanks
